For most households with pets, kids, or high daily foot traffic, we recommend a minimum of 20 mil. Thinner wear layers work in lower-traffic spaces like guest bedrooms, but for main living areas and kitchens, 20 mil gives meaningful protection against scratches over time.

Room count, subfloor conditions, and overall scope all affect how long installation runs, and we'll give you a realistic timeline during your free consultation.

LVP typically uses a glue-down approach requiring careful subfloor preparation and adhesive application. LVT and EVP use interlocking systems where planks or tiles click together and float over the substrate. Both produce durable results, but the right choice depends on your subfloor, room layout, and desired look.
